Your timing is so good for me as I have been trying to find ways to deepen my understanding of the major scale. I watched a lot of videos yesterday and grew fatigued by a mush of ideas that all felt about the same. You really open my mind here and these doable ideas require a level of mastery that I currently do not have...a long, drawn out way of saying "thanks"

I have a D'Angelico Premier Mini-DC semi-hollow and I love it. The design is very art-deco and inspired by the architecture design of the home city of the company, NYC (the headstock / tuners are supposed to be representation of the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building from the NYC skyline)

Is there a name for interleaving two progression types? I was working on 2+2 lines, and your video type seems to be 'splitable' as 2+3 lines. I first noticed the 2+2 line in the string section of 'Days of Pearly Spencer' by David McWilliams. I thought there'd be more in Chopin, but only found a couple. I found more in Bach. I did my stuff by writing two progression types in midi, splitting them into 2 note chunks and then interleaving them. The better ones were similar the the McWilliams type, with a 2 note ascend, but the 'trend' was descending, split with a descending arp based line. There were some interesting results when an ascending trend line was split with a descending trend line, mostly at the crossover position. I also did a double-split where I took the output results of the 2+2 and split that, so it was effectively a 4+4 containing re-interleaved 2+2 sections.

Awesome lesson! Those are really the fundamentals everyone should know. I have personally found myself focusing more on arpeggios rather than triads, I feel it’s a more practical way to making bebop lines.

In this lesson, we implement a diatonic sequence over E altered (F melodic minor's 7th mode). The diatonic chords of F melodic minor are: Fm(maj7), Gm7, Ab aug(maj7), Bb7, C7, Dm7b5, Em7b5. Thus, the diatonic chords of E altered are: Em7b5, Fm(maj7), Gm7, Ab aug(maj7), Bb7, C7, Dm7b5. The sequence in this video starts descending from Ab aug(maj7).
